How Affiliate Links Work Here

The Rule: Revenue Does Not Move Rankings

Vendor rankings are computed from the five-dimension scoring formula on How We Rate. The overall score is a weighted average of five sub-scores: Lab Credibility, Shipping and Refund, Pricing, Operating History, and Business Transparency. Where we could not verify a vendor's third-party testing, the score is capped, and that cap can rise slightly with operating history, shipping and consumer reviews. Affiliate status is not an input.

Whether or not we have an affiliate relationship with a vendor is recorded in a separate affiliate field on the vendor record. That field is not read by the scoring code. Editorial discipline:

• Vendors with affiliate relationships can, and do, earn low scores.
• Vendors with no affiliate program are ranked on their merits like every other.
• We publish negative findings on partners (stale COAs, missing endotoxin testing, laboratories whose independence is not established) the same way we do on non-partners.
• We do not accept payment or product in exchange for higher rankings, editorial coverage, or removing flags. Ever.

Vendors sometimes offer us product free of charge. We accept it only if we can say so on that vendor's page and publish whatever we find if we test it. Supplied material is not read by the scoring code. As of 21 October 2026 one vendor has supplied material: Zeptix Labs, 7 vials received 10 October 2026.

What an Affiliate Link Looks Like on This Site

When you see a vendor CTA with a gold code EXAMPLE saves 10% badge, that's an affiliate link with a customer discount attached. The button sends you to the vendor's site with a tracking parameter that identifies us as the referrer. If you purchase, the vendor pays us a commission. The discount code is yours to use; it gives you a real percentage off at checkout.

Some affiliate partners do not run a public discount code (the partner link itself applies the discount automatically). Those links carry no code badge, so the list of partners above is the complete record of which vendors' links can earn us a commission.

Links to vendors that are not on that list do not earn anything for us, whether we have no relationship with the vendor, an application is pending, or the vendor does not run a program.

Affiliate Status and Rankings

Affiliate status plays no part in a vendor's score or its position in our rankings. Vendors with the same score are listed alphabetically. Whether a vendor is a partner, declined, did not reply, was turned down by us, or was never asked tells you nothing about its products. The one place affiliate status matters is the labelled partner picks and the featured partner slots on the deals pages; the full ranked tables list every vendor in score order.

Featured Partner Placements

The first three offers on the promos page are featured placements held by affiliate partners, and each is labelled "Featured partner". We choose which partners hold them, and we may take into account the sales a partnership generates or a partner's request. Among offers with the same discount, we may also set the order. No vendor pays for these placements, and they are a placement decision only: they never change a score, a rank or the testing gate.

FTC Compliance, in Plain English

FTC 16 CFR Part 255 requires us to disclose material connections that could influence how you read our reviews. We disclose those connections here, in the footer of every page, and next to affiliate offers where they appear, such as the partner labels on product pages and the promos page.

Per FTC guidance, a disclosure should be "clear and conspicuous". If you find a partner link on this site without a visible disclosure near it, tell us through the Submit page and we will fix it.

Conflict of Interest Controls

• Scoring is a fixed, published formula. It reads the five sub-scores, whether third-party testing was verified, and the smoothed consumer-review average and count (used only for the cap allowance). It never reads the affiliate field. The full formula is published on How We Rate, so a reader can recompute any score from the sub-scores on the vendor page to within rounding.
• Affiliate enrollment is dated. Each partner's enrollment date is published in the list above.
• Negative findings get the same treatment. When we find stale COAs, lab claims we could not verify with the named lab, or supply-chain irregularities on a partner vendor, we publish the finding on their page identically to how we'd publish it on a non-partner.
• You can flag concerns. If you believe a ranking is wrong, the Submit form is the channel. We look into every report and correct anything shown to be wrong.
