32 laboratories named on certificates, 8 not established as independent; 5 more without certificates

The Lab Directory

A vendor’s testing claim is only as good as the lab behind it. Every lab named on a certificate on our vendor pages, graded by the same six published checks.

Every laboratory is graded on six checks (L1 real business, L2 independence, L3 verification route, L4 identity method, L5 track record, L6 accreditation on the accrediting body’s register), and its tier follows from them by a fixed table. A tier B- or better earns a certificate +2, tier C earns nothing, and tier D certificates score a flat 2.0. A laboratory is graded as soon as it is named in our records; one that no certificate on a vendor page names is listed below with its tier and has no effect on any score. The full rules

Without certificates (5)

These laboratories are in our records, named by a vendor we list or have listed, but no certificate on a vendor page names them, so they have no effect on any score. Each is graded on the same six checks from its own public reports for any client (rule L0), and gets a profile when its first certificate appears: SafeCert Labs (tier D), Colmaric Analyticals (tier C), Liquilabs (tier B+), APIGENEX s.r.o. (tier B-), BioChex (tier D).

Lab testing, explained

How does a lab's tier change a vendor's score?

Each certificate is scored on our published lab rubric. A certificate from a laboratory graded A+, A, A-, B+, B or B- earns +2 for the laboratory, and +1 more when the laboratory passes L6 (ISO/IEC 17025 active on the accrediting body's register with a scope that covers peptide testing) and the certificate was tested on or after the date that accreditation became active. A tier C laboratory earns no laboratory points. A tier D laboratory is one whose independence we could not establish: every certificate naming it scores a flat 2.0 out of 10, the same as a self-issued certificate or one that names no laboratory, and it does not count toward the testing gate.

What makes a peptide testing lab credible?

We grade every laboratory by the same six published checks: it is a real business (L1), it is independent of the vendors whose products it tests (L2), a reader can check an individual report with it (L3), it identifies the peptide by mass spectrometry (L4), it has at least 12 months of reports for at least three unrelated clients (L5), and it holds ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation that is active on the accrediting body's own register with a scope that covers peptide testing (L6). The tier follows from the checks by a fixed table on our How We Rate page, and each laboratory's profile shows every result with its evidence link and the date we checked.

What is ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation?

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for the technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories. An accredited lab has been assessed by an accrediting body for the methods listed in its scope. We count it only when the accrediting body's own public register shows it active with a scope that covers peptide testing; a laboratory's own claim, a logo on a certificate, or an accreditation for other kinds of testing does not count.

How do you verify a COA is real?

We match each Certificate of Analysis to the lab that issued it and, where the lab offers one, confirm the result through its verification portal using the batch or verification key printed on the report. We record whether that lookup succeeded, the named lab, and the panel tested, so a COA is only counted as verified evidence when it traces back to a real, named lab.
