COA verification guide

How to verify a Chromate COA

Check a certificate with the laboratory that issued it, not with the seller. These are the steps we use ourselves (check L3 in How we rate). Research use only.

Four steps

  1. Find the code on the certificate

Each report prints a report number and a key.

  2. Open the laboratory's own lookup

Enter them at chromate.org/verify. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from the seller, and make sure the page is on the laboratory's own domain.

  3. Compare the result with the vendor's copy

A real key returns the report. The product, lot, client name, test date, purity and quantity should all match; any difference in these is a material difference.

  4. Run the control check

An invented key returns 'invalid'. Change one character of a real code and look it up again: a lookup that answers every code proves nothing.

Our check (L3, pass): On 2026-10-22 chromate.org/verify returned reports 24763, 33200 and 40596 for their keys and 'invalid' for an invented key.

What a confirmation is worth in our scores

On a Chromate certificate, a printed key earns +1.5 and a key we confirm at the laboratory earns another +1.5 under our lab rule. Only confirmed certificates count toward the testing gate (rule A9). We have confirmed 12 of 12 certificates naming Chromate, from 3 vendors; the vendors are listed on the Chromate profile. For what every field on a certificate means, read how to read a peptide COA.
