COA verification guide

How to verify an Ethos Analytics Laboratory COA

Check a certificate with the laboratory that issued it, not with the seller. These are the steps we use ourselves (check L3 in How we rate). Research use only.

Four steps

  1. Find the code on the certificate

Each certificate prints a sample ID.

  2. Open the laboratory's own lookup

Search the sample ID on the laboratory's verify-coa page. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from the seller, and make sure the page is on the laboratory's own domain.

  3. Compare the result with the vendor's copy

A real sample ID appears in the list with the laboratory's PDF, which should match the vendor's copy. The product, lot, client name, test date, purity and quantity should all match; any difference in these is a material difference.

  4. Run the control check

An invented sample ID has no match. Change one character of a real code and look it up again: a lookup that answers every code proves nothing.

Our check (L3, pass): On 2026-10-22 the verify-coa list showed sample 26EA0720-053 with the laboratory's PDF matching the vendor copy, and an invented sample ID had no match.
