COA verification guide

How to verify an MDx BioAnalytical Laboratory COA

Check a certificate with the laboratory that issued it, not with the seller. These are the steps we use ourselves (check L3 in How we rate). Research use only.

Four steps

  1. Find the code on the certificate

Each certificate prints a certificate number.

  2. Open the laboratory's own lookup

Search the number in the laboratory's CoA Search. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from the seller, and make sure the page is on the laboratory's own domain.

  3. Compare the result with the vendor's copy

A real number returns the laboratory's PDF. The product, lot, client name, test date, purity and quantity should all match; any difference in these is a material difference.

  4. Run the control check

An invented number returns no match. Change one character of a real code and look it up again: a lookup that answers every code proves nothing.

Note: Some older 2025 certificate numbers are not in the lookup, so a missing 2025 report is not by itself proof of a problem.

Our check (L3, pass): Its CoA Search returned the laboratory's PDF for real certificate numbers and no match for an invented one. Some older 2025 numbers are not in the lookup.
