COA verification guide

How to verify a Vanguard Laboratory COA

Check a certificate with the laboratory that issued it, not with the seller. These are the steps we use ourselves (check L3 in How we rate). Research use only.

Four steps

  1. Find the code on the certificate

Each certificate prints a report ID.

  2. Open the laboratory's own lookup

Search the report ID at verifiedbyvanguard.com. Type the address yourself rather than following a link from the seller, and make sure the page is on the laboratory's own domain.

  3. Compare the result with the vendor's copy

A real ID returns the report with the laboratory's PDF. The product, lot, client name, test date, purity and quantity should all match; any difference in these is a material difference.

  4. Run the control check

An invented ID returns 404 (not found). Change one character of a real code and look it up again: a lookup that answers every code proves nothing.

Our check (L3, pass): On 2026-10-22 verifiedbyvanguard.com returned report V260706-2 013 with the laboratory's PDF, and an invented ID returned 404.

What a confirmation is worth in our scores

Only confirmed certificates count toward the testing gate (rule A9). We have confirmed 59 of 76 certificates naming Vanguard Laboratory, from 5 vendors; the vendors are listed on the Vanguard Laboratory profile.
